Lumpen Radio, WLPN-LP Chicago 105.5FM launched in 2016 and broadcasts 24/7. WLPN-LP is operated by a community of curators working to connect you with the music and ideas you love. Our aim is to spotlight the hidden parts of the city by amplifying its voices and sounds. We promote open media, uniting communities and magnifying the hard work of artists, musicians, activists and cultural workers like you. WLPN is a project of Public Media Institute (PMI).

A través de diálogos y análisis, el show despeja dudas y ayuda a entender las implicaciones de las noticias, combatiendo el miedo y la confusión. Además, celebra historias de resistencia y superación, ofreciendo una visión motivadora y alternativa que destaca los logros y desafíos de los migrantes.
En este episodio, en conmemoración al mes Internacional del la Mujer y mediante el testimonio de Cynthia y Teresa, exploramos las luchas de las mujeres migrante trabajadoras por mejores condiciones laborales y de vida. Analizaremos la organización femenina, la defensa de derechos constitucionales y cómo los trabajadores se están organizando para las marchas del 1ro de Mayo, por lo que nos acompañan Martin Unzueta, director del CCWR. Además, contaremos con la presencia de Adriana Velazquez, inmigrante y activista, para hablar sobre el registro de no ciudadanos y DACA.

The Mutual Aid Report is a monthly show that highlights various mutual aid organizations across the Chicagoland area. It provides a platform for you to learn about these organizations, support their efforts, or access assistance if needed.
We’re speaking with a representative from @cannaequityil to learn about their efforts in promoting equity in cannabis and supporting communities impacted by the war on drugs across Chicago and Illinois. We’ll discuss their resource fairs, their work in record clearing, and the legal aid they provide to individuals facing various challenges.
