Last December, Buddy hosted Lumpen Radio during the Chicago Cultural Center’s open house and they interviewed an amazing mix of people from across the city!
Visitors explored the center’s galleries, installations, and of course, the iconic Buddy Store itself.
We teamed up with Buddy and set up a recording booth right in the shop! From curious passersby to talented performers and cultural workers, we captured voices and stories about their art, jobs, and even a few deepest, darkest secrets.
*These conversations were recorded live on Saturday, December 21st 2024 at The Chicago Cultural Center open house.

The Mutual Aid Report is a monthly show that highlights various mutual aid organizations across the Chicagoland area. It provides a platform for you to learn about these organizations, support their efforts, or access assistance if needed.
For today’s special episode, we’ll be speaking with @florecer_chi and some local high school students about how they launched their initiative, the mutual aid efforts they’ve led to support folks on the Southwest Side, and their work empowering the youth in Chicago. Don’t miss out!

For our very first episode, we will be having special guest Mary Kate Mack from the @orangetentproject Our host, Mario Smith, will lead the discussion, addressing the challenges the organization has faced over the past few months, outlining expectations for the next four years under the new presidency, and sharing how they’ve been assisting new neighbors in settling into the city.
